Terms of Service
Last updated: November 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and PurplePatch (“Annie”, “we”, “us”; details under Contact below), and govern your use of justaskannie.com and everything on it (the “Service”).
Please read these Terms carefully. They include a binding arbitration agreement and a waiver of class actions and jury trials (section 12), and they limit our liability (sections 9 and 10). Before your first message or upload, we ask you to tick a box to agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. By doing that, or by using the Service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old.
1. What Annie is, and what it is not
Annie is a self-help tool. It uses software, including artificial intelligence, to help you understand documents in plain language, keep your case organized in one place, and prepare: checklists, draft letters for you or your lawyer to review, questions to ask, timelines and reminders.
- We are not a law firm and not a lawyer. No one at Annie represents you, and using the Service does not create an attorney–client relationship or any other professional relationship.
- We give general information, not legal advice. The Service is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, and it is not tailored to the laws of any particular country, state or jurisdiction, or to your individual circumstances.
- We do not file, submit or sign anything on your behalf, and we do not contact any government agency for you.
- We are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government agency, including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
2. You stay in control of your case
- You decide what to do in your matter. You are responsible for those decisions and their results.
- Check every explanation, date and instruction against your official documents and the official source. Where they differ, the official document controls.
- Talk to a licensed attorney before you act on anything important, especially if you face a deadline, a denial, a hearing or removal, or anything involving fraud or criminal history.
- Deadlines are your responsibility. Reminders are a convenience. They may be late, go to spam, or not arrive at all, and you should not rely on them alone.
3. AI output can be wrong
Answers, explanations, drafts and checklists are generated automatically. They can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, even when they sound confident. Laws, forms, fees and processing practices change often. Use AI output as a starting point to understand and prepare, never as the final word.
4. Your cases are stored on your device
Your cases, uploaded documents, answers and drafts are saved in your own browser on your own device, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don’t keep copies on our servers, so we can’t restore them for you. If you clear your browser data, lose or change your device, or use a private window, your cases may be gone. Keep your own copies of anything important (for example with “Save as PDF”).
5. Your content
You keep all rights to what you upload or type. You give us permission to process it only to provide the Service to you, for example by sending it to our AI provider to generate your answer. Only upload documents you have the right to share.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to:
- break the law, or prepare false, fraudulent or misleading documents or statements;
- offer legal services to others, or resell or redistribute the Service;
- get around usage limits, create multiple free accounts, or interfere with the Service;
- copy, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these rules.
7. Plans, payments and cancellation
Paid plans are sold through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which processes your payment and any applicable taxes. Plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly that renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Plans include fair-use limits per case (such as how many documents and how much text a case can hold). We may change prices or plans for future billing periods and will tell you before a change affects you. Refunds are covered by our Refunds & cancellation policy.
8. Changes to the Service
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including the AI models it uses.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content and output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that reminders will be delivered, or that using the Service will lead to any particular result in your matter.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, income, employment, immigration status or benefit, or any denial, delay, missed deadline or other outcome of your matter, even if we were told it was possible; and (b) our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$10 if you have not paid us anything.
Some places don’t allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you. In that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
11. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these Terms or the law, or misused the Service, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees.
12. Disputes: arbitration, no class actions
Talk to us first. Before bringing any claim, email help@justaskannie.com with a description of the problem and what you’re asking for. Most issues are solved this way. If it isn’t resolved within 30 days, either of us may start arbitration.
Binding individual arbitration. Any dispute, claim or controversy relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved by final and binding arbitration by a single arbitrator under India’s Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, instead of in court. The seat of arbitration is Rajkot, Gujarat, India. The arbitration will be conducted in English, and hearings may be held online so you don’t need to travel. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction, and either of us may ask a court to stop the other from infringing intellectual property.
No class actions, no jury. You and we each may bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. You and we each waive any right to a jury trial.
Time limit. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arose, or it is permanently barred, unless the law requires a longer period.
Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing help@justaskannie.com within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms, with the subject “Arbitration opt-out”. If you opt out, the rest of these Terms still apply.
If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will go to the courts named in section 13, and not to arbitration.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to section 12, the courts at Rajkot, Gujarat, India have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms takes away consumer rights that the law of your place of residence says cannot be waived.
14. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 3, 4 and 9 to 15 continue to apply after your access ends.
15. Other terms
- These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Disclaimer and the Refunds policy are the whole agreement between us.
- If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up.
- You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them to a successor business.
- We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we will ask you to agree again before you keep using the Service. The date at the top shows the latest version.
